I was touched by the Spirit of Elijah (a.k.a. bit by the genealogy bug) at the age of 16 when my heart was turned towards the heart of my fathers, and the hearts of my fathers were turned to the hearts of the children (Malachi 3:6). At that time (2001), I didn’t just receive a testimony of family history and research, I also found the doctrines of the gospel and explanations of life, truth and meaning I had been searching for. I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 21, 2001.
Since then I have been seeking out questions to deeper doctrinal questions while remembering the essential tenets of the gospel: The gospel of Jesus Christ is true; it is available for all those who will receive it. Jesus Christ is the creator of the worlds, and Savior and Redeemer of mankind. He is my Savior and Redeemer, Example and Path to Happiness. He has restored his church on the earth today with prophets, seers and revelators. Jesus Christ rose again and lives today and made it possible for all people to live again after death.
My name is Jenne, my eternal companion is Peter and our progeny so far includes Willem (a.k.a. Chunka, Willito- The Baby Burrito, Potato Head, Whim and Blob) and Belle (mainly Beauty for now). I stay at home with my little ones, while at the same time, working with the nonprofit organizations Solace for Mothers, The Birth Survey. I blog here, at Descent into Motherhood, LDS WAVE and Mother Wheel. With all of that, I find life to be fulfilling, exciting and uplifting.
In 2008, I completed a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education where I researched processes that contribute to family happiness and family policy as a public health issue. We live in Seattle where Peter is completing a Ph.D in animal behavior (estimated date of completion is 2012).
